City of Portales Receives Grant from R.D. and Joan Dale Hubbard
Foundation to Continue Summer Recreation Programs
The R.D. and Joan Dale Hubbard Foundation awarded grants to 41
different non-profit groups including the City of Portales. The
grants given on August 16th at the Hubbard Museum went to groups
throughout southeastern New Mexico, totaling $244,800.
With the grant the City of Portales received, the money will be
used to fund the continued effort of a summer recreation program
in the community. Other groups from Portales received awards including
the Portales High School Band, to purchase band equipment.
R.D. and Joan Dale Hubbard are the majority owners of Ruidoso Downs
Race Track and Casino, Zia Park and Black Gold Casino in Hobbs,
along with other real estate, golf courses, and horse breeding farms
in New Mexico. The Hubbard Foundation annually funds approximately
one million dollars in projects in New Mexico and through out America
very year.
