Press Release City Host's Appreciation Reception for School Supply Volunteers Three local groups collaborated efforts to make sure that Portales students would not go without school supplies this year. The ENMU Campus Bookstore, Portales Kiwanis Club, along with the Clovis/Portales Elks Club raised over $2,000 to purchase school supplies. The school supplies were donated to Brown Early Childhood Center, Steiner, James, and Valencia Elementary, as well as Lindsey Middle School. The principals at the schools distributed the supplies to the children with the greatest need.
