Teen Summer Reading

Join the Teen Book and Movie Discussion Group!

Read the books on your own, then come to the library to watch the movie and participate in a discussion. Extra copies of the books are available for check out on a first come/first serve basis. See Heather at the children's desk. Movies and discussions will be on the following Thursdays at 2:00 pm.

July 17: The Princess Bride by William Goldman
July 31: The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper

In adition to the Book and Movie Discussion series, there will be a couple of fun teen events. On June 19 come learn the art of making your own paper, and on July 24 we'll have a Duct Tape Creations contest--see what you can make with only duct tape and your imagination! Both of these programs will be at 2:00.

Read Books for Cool Prizes!

For every 2 hours you read, you can turn in your name for a chance to win cool prizes like books, free dessert from Applebee's, and even an MP3 player. Don't forget to turn in book reviews of your favorite books. See Heather for special Metamorphosis themed book review forms.
