The City of Portales provides water, wastewater and solid waste (garbage) services. If you are moving to a new location and request services, the following procedures apply. If the property you are at already has a water meter or garbage bin, then you need to come to 100 W 1st to City Hall with photo ID and put up a deposit of $60 dollars for residential. For commercial deposit, call 356-6662, ext 16 prior to coming in. The City provides same day service on regular business days prior to 4 p.m.
