Portales Police Department Animal Shelter
The Portales Police Department provides full-service Animal Control to all residents within the City limits. Animal Control Officers attend State and National certification classes and are trained to handled calls for service that involve domestic animals or wildlife. The division provides patrol service seven days per week and may be called out after hours in case of an emergency.
The Animal Shelter is located next to the Law Enforcement Complex at 1700 N. Boston. Hours of operation for adoptions are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
