The City of Portales offers a variety of childcare options including daycares, programming, and services within the community and area. In addition, Cannon AFB offers the Child Development Center.
The Portales community is home to Eastern New Mexico University and the Portales Municipal School District. In addition, the area offers Clovis Municipal School District, Clovis Community College, Wayland Baptist University, and a satellite campus for Embry Riddle Aeronautical University on Cannon AFB.
Besides the services offered at Cannon AFB for employment placement services, there are many opportunities in varied industries to seek and find employment in the local area.
